BACKGROUND AND TRAINING

Grace Arnold is a licensed professional counselor with over 24 years of clinical experiences working with adolescence and adults of all ages . Her journey has given her experience in adult and geriatric partial hospital programs, community mental health day treatment programs, individual, couples and group therapy and addressing the diverse challenges of University students while working as a University counselor and disability coordinator. She is a certified mental health first aid trainer and conducts mental health training to individuals to help them understand how to recognize and respond to certain warning signs and lessen the impact of a mental challenge. She is a graduate of Oakwood University and received her Masters in clinical Psychology from Alabama A&M University.

SERVICES

She views therapy as a collaborative relationship and values honest communication which is encouraged in a therapeutic environment that is nurturing, compassionate, respectful, relaxing and nonjudgmental to help effect change towards a healthier and more fulfilling life. Addressing past or present experiences that contribute to anxiety and depression or just dealing with life’s transitions and challenges that leaves one feeling stuck. She believes that counseling is working together to find a balance between focusing on the present concerns and the possible contributing factors from the past. When this balance is achieved individuals will feel empowered to confront the current problems they are facing and build the future they want.
