Megan is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Alabama as well as a National Certified Counselor. She received her undergraduate training from Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and her graduate training from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga receiving a Master of Education in Community Counseling. While in graduate school she served in two different officer positions for Chi Sigma Iota, the international counseling honor society. She also presented at the Tennessee Counseling Association annual conferences during graduate school on various counseling topics. Megan holds a certificate of basic training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy in the treatment of trauma and many other emotional disorders. She is also an LPC Supervisor in Alabama who is able to provide post graduate supervision to Associate Licensed Counselors seeking full state licensure.


Megan has clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families of all ages and multicultural backgrounds. She has worked in a college counseling center, inpatient and intensive outpatient (IOP) substance abuse/addiction settings with adolescents and adults in group, individual and family therapy. She has also facilitated specific family and parent support meetings for loved ones impacted by addiction. She has provided therapy in a drug court setting helping clients resolve legal situations and rehabilitate their lives through substance recovery and lifestyle changes. She applies an eclectic approach to counseling with use of cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, EMDR, solution focused therapy and many other research based techniques and strategies for management of a wide range of behavioral and psychological disorders. She has special interest in working specifically with trauma, codependency, social anxiety, self-injury, personality disorders, teen/adolescent issues, relationship difficulties and spiritual issues. In her practice, Megan also periodically provides group counseling for social skills/social confidence issues as well as various other topics as needed.
