BACKGROUND AND TRAINING
Christina is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the state of Alabama. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She is a graduate of the Advanced Standing Master’s Program in Social Work at UA, and was accepted into the MSW Washington D.C. Field Placement Program, spending 6 months as an intern at Georgetown University Hospital Department of Oncology. She was a member and officer of the Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society. She received her Clinical Social Work license in 2010 and has been providing clinical services to adults and adolescents in the outpatient setting since then.
Since 2006, Christina has been afforded the opportunity to treat the spectrum of mental health issues in a wide range of settings. Her clinical practice focuses on the treatment of adults and families. She promotes a nonjudgmental environment and welcomes people from all walks of life. She has experience with the treatment of depression, bipolar affective disorder, psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders and relationship issues. She welcomes individuals or families into the therapy sessions. She also has a special interest in working with women who may be dealing with postpartum depression or adjustment issues. Christina utilizes evidenced-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (informed), to name a few.
